In the past decade, agricultural land allocated to organic farming in Europe has increased by over 70%. With this growth in demand for organic food, farmers are looking for cheaper and more effective ways to grow plants without the use of pesticides.

Weedbot, led by Janis Jasko and accompanied by a team of seasoned industry experts in engineering, robotics and computer vision, are tackling the problem of inefficient organic farming practices with a unique solution - a weeding machine that utilizes image capturing and laser technology to eliminate weeds from delicate plant crops. A camera on the Weedbot device recognizes weeds using their proprietary computer vision algorithm, and kills them with a laser beam with extremely high precision - 10x compared to the existing solutions. The technology leads to increased productivity by replacing manual weeding processes, which by nature are costly and labour and time-consuming.
